Debutantes presented at Fashionetta

What: The 24th triennial Fashionetta debutante ball was held at the Chattanooga Convention Center, sponsored by the Pi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Latrice Currie-Tucker and Dr. Paul Smith emceed the gala. Fifty-eight girls in grades 3-12 participated in the Fashionetta cultural enrichment program, which culminates in the presentation. Renyata Leigh Finney was crowned Miss Fashionetta by 1968 Miss Fashionetta Juliette Thornton.

Benefits: The Ivy Rose Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AKA sorority.

Holiday teas support Houston Museum

What: The staff and board of directors of Houston Museum of Decorative Arts hosted two Sunday afternoon holiday teas at the museum this month. In addition to being served a "proper English tea," guests were given tours of the museum.
