Dalton, Ga., police seek armed robbery suspects

DALTON, Ga. — The Dalton Police Department is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of suspects in an armed robbery Thursday at 613 N. Hamilton St.

The robbery took place about 10:40 p.m. at the La Esquin store.

One black man entered the store and approached the clerk, while a second black man entered the store with a handgun, police said.

The handgun was described as being all-black with wooden grips.

While the second man pointed the handgun at the clerk's head, the first man pulled out a Taser and attempted to tase the clerk twice.

The second man then struck the clerk in her head with the handgun as the first man grabbed money out of the register.

Both men then fled north on Hamilton Street on foot.

One robber is a skinny black man, 6-foot-1 with a salt-and-pepper scruffy beard and yellow teeth wearing a beanie winter hat and dark blue or black coveralls, police said.

The second robber was a larger black man, 6-foot-1, wearing a burgundy, long-sleeved shirt, dark hoodie, beanie winter hat, dark jeans and black winter gloves.

Anyone with information about this crime or the identity of the men is asked to call Detective Scott Murray at 706-278-9085, ext. 148.
