Mike Lowry

Mike Lowry, director of Monroe County, Tenn. Schools, died at Sweetwater Hospital at 11:30 p.m. Christmas Eve, according to the Monroe County schools website.

The circumstances surrounding Lowry's death were not available Wednesday evening, but area reports indicated that Lowry's passing was unexpected and sudden.
