NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Highway Patrol is seeking the public's help as it investigates the discovery of a man's body on Interstate 40 in Roane County.

The highway patrol says it received a call early Wednesday that a body of a man in his 40s had been found on the eastbound lanes of I-40 at mile marker 364.

A preliminary investigation indicates the man either jumped or fell from a moving vehicle and his body was then struck by at least one other vehicle. There were no vehicles found near the victim.

The body has been taken to the medical examiner's office and the identification is pending.

The highway patrol says anyone with pertinent information should contact the THP's Knoxville district headquarters.
