1 killed in crash after police pursuit in Nashville

NASHVILLE — Nashville police say one person is dead and two others injured after officers attempted to stop a vehicle they believed was stolen and the driver fled.

Police told media that officers pursued the vehicle as it sped away, and then the driver lost control and slammed into a parked truck.

Police say the dead man appeared to be a passenger in the car. The driver and another occupant were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to be treated. The extent of their injuries was unclear, but they didn't appear to be life-threatening.

No names were released. Police say they continue to investigate.
