SYLACAUGA, Ala. - An Alabama state Senator says he plans to introduce a resolution during the upcoming legislative session to show support for "Duck Dynasty" star, Phil Robertson.

The Talladega Daily Home reports Republican Sen. Jerry Fielding of Sylacauga, said the A&E network "bowed to pressures from liberal groups rather than respecting Robertson's biblically correct views."

In an interview with GQ magazine, Robertson made comments that some said were homophobic and racist. Robertson was suspended from the show soon afterward, which prompted outcry from many of the show's supporters and some conservative politicians.

Fielding says he stands with many Alabamians who support Robertson sharing his Christian beliefs.
