ATLANTA - Police in Atlanta are investigating the deadly shooting of a nightclub owner in what a witness describes as an ambush.

Atlanta police Capt. Paul Guerrucci said a second man was shot in the back during the gunfire Monday afternoon at the Deja vu club on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard northwest Atlanta. Guerrucci said the wounded man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

Mike McGee of Roswell tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/19Dmbif) that he and his son were trying to help the club's owner with a dead car battery. He said that as soon as they connected the battery cables, two gunmen turned a corner and started shooting.

Police were still investigating a possible motive. Guerrucci said the shooting does not appear to be a random crime.
