Hamilton County medical examiner: Homicide victim shot in the face

A Hamilton County medical examiner's report shows a 23-year-old man killed in what witnesses described as a gang-related shooting was shot three times.

Terry Parker Jr. was shot once in his left foot, once in his left leg and suffered a fatal gunshot wound to his face, the report states.

Parker, who police said was affiliated with the Crips gang, was shot Monday in the 1200 block of Grove Street. He was found near a parked car in the roadway, according to the medical examiner's report.

Two men accused of killing him, Antonio Evans and Christopher Penn, are associated with the Bloods, according to an arrest report.

Penn was shot and wounded on Rossville Boulevard just eight days before Parker was gunned down. It's unclear if the shootings are related. No arrests were made in the Rossville Boulevard shooting.

A witness reported watching Evans fire shots at Parker. Both Evans and Penn ran away afterward, the witness told police.

Parker's death is the city's fourth homicide for the year to date. During the same time in 2012, there were two homicides.

Penn faces charges of criminal conspiracy and first-degree murder. Evans is charged with first-degree murder, criminal conspiracy, possession of a firearm while in commission of a felony and aggravated assault.

As of Friday, both remained incarcerated at the Hamilton County Jail. They are scheduled to appear before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Clarence Shattuck on Tuesday.
