Deputies in Jackson County, Ala., made a pair of drug busts Thursday evening, finding pain pills, methamphetamine and marijuana - both natural and synthetic.
After receiving a complaint about drug activity, members of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Stevenson, Ala., Police Department went to the Greenbriar Apartments complex. There, police say, officers found James Ray Rice, 37, cooking methamphetamine. Two children were also in the apartment, and so were two more adults: William Gary Mosley, 33, and Tiffany Michelle Jordan, 26.
Officers say they then got a search warrant and looked through the apartment, finding marijuana, Lortab, another drug and drug-related equipment. Lortab is a pain reliever. Jordan, Mosley and Rice were all arrested on the same charges: unlawful manufacture of controlled substance, chemical endangerment of a child, reckless endangerment, unlawful possession of marijuana and three counts of unlawful possession of controlled substances.
Of the two children found at the apartment, one lives on Erich Avenue in Bridgeport, Ala. So after making their arrests, officers and members of the Alabama Department of Human Resources took that child home, and while there they found synthetic cannabis.
Owen Patrick O'Reilly, 42, of Bridgeport, was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession. Cheri Lynn Fugate, 39, of Bridgeport, and Richard Morgan Shirley, 52, of Snellville, Ga., were arrested on that same charge, authorities said.
A judge had not set their bonds as of late Friday.
