The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team quickly overcame a rare halftime deficit and beat Samford 60-46 tonight at McKenzie Arena. It was the Southern Conference-leading Lady Mocs’ ninth consecutive win.
UTC (19-3, 12-1 SoCon) closed the game on an 18-6 run during the final 9:49. The strong finish came after a poor-shooting first half that led to a 25-22 Samford lead. It was the first time UTC had trailed at the half of a league game this season.
Kayla Christopher led all scorers with 18 points, going 4-for-7 from 3-point range. Tatianna Jackson added 10 points, five rebounds and three steals off the bench. Taylor Hall had four points and 10 rebounds.
