Man killed in Highway 153 motorcycle crash

Chattanooga police responded to a fatal car accident Tuesday night around 8:35 p.m.

The victim, Adam Lee Bailey, 41, was driving his Honda motorcycle on Highway 153 when he crashed into a Dodge Stratus as the car’s driver, Samantha J. Stearns, pulled out of a parking lot, according to a news release from the police department.

The crash occurred in the 5400 block of Highway 153.

According to witnesses, Bailey was traveling south on Highway 153 when he collided with Stearns’ Stratus and was ejected from his motorcycle. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Stearns, 43, did not suffer any major injuries, police said.

An investigation is continuing.
