The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team, which sits atop the Southern Conference standings, has its hands full with 10th-place UNC Greensboro tonight at McKenzie Arena.
UTC, winners of 10 straight games and 23 in a row at the Roundhouse, trail the Spartans 32-31 at the half. UNCG’s Jessica Collins went 4-for-4 from 3-point range and hit two in the final minute to give the Spartans the lead.
The Lady Mocs did a lot well in the opening 20 minutes — 23 rebounds, five steals, 42.4 percent shooting — but they also turned the ball over 10 times.
Collins leads all scorers with 16 points, she’s 6-for-7 from the field, and Ashlen Dewart leads UTC with nine points and six rebounds.
