Hamilton County Medical Examiner's report does not state how dismembered woman died

Even after an autopsy was performed, it remains unknown how a 48-year-old woman whose headless and handless body was found on a creek bank on Youngstown Road died.

Dana Wilkes was identified by ankle tattoos of Mickey Mouse and two butterflies, chest x-rays and an orthopedic plate in her lower neck, according to a Hamilton County Medical Exmainer's report.

Wilkes was last seen near her Brainerd home in the 100 block of Palo Verde Drive on Nov. 9. Her 2000 green Jeep Cherokee was found near Wilcox Tunnel on Wilcox Boulevard a day later with blood splattered inside of it.

Police were contacted and found the door of her duplex unlocked. Wilkes' purse, which contained her insulin, was found inside her home, according to family members on the website.

Her body was found Nov. 25.

Tony Bigoms Jr., 53, is charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse after police linked him to the slaying of Dana Wilkes.

Bigoms was a friend of Wilkes' husband, Tom Wilkes.
