Russell Gilbert Sr. is all about improving education for jobs in Chattanooga. He says that's why he's running for office again.
"I'm going to fight for opportunity for our kids," he said.
He believes that opportunity is a university-based technical trade school, not unlike the old Kirkman Technical High School that used to be in Chattanooga decades ago.
Gilbert is food service director at Parkridge Valley Hospital and the head of "Angels in Flight", a non-profit organization that provides industrial and arts training to local children.
He was elected in 2008 to represent the communities of Bonny Oaks, Dalewood, Eastgate, Kingspoint, Lake Hills and Woodmore.
