Dogs make juvenile courthouse kid-friendly

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - As children at the juvenile courthouse wait for a room full of adults to figure out their fate, there is generally little comfort to be found on the wooden benches, said Judge Sharon Guffee.

To help put those kids at ease, Guffee has invited dogs from the county's shelter.

Each Tuesday, when Guffee's docket is heaviest with cases involving foster care, abuse and neglect, volunteers from the shelter bring comfort on four legs.
