The Hamilton County grand jury has charged a man with filing false reports and tampering/fabricating evidence after a nine-month investigation into an alleged jewelry robbery.

On April 20, 2012, Jeremy Richard Chambers reported $60,000 worth of jewelry stolen from the Mountain View Pawn Shop in Sale Creek where he worked.

Chambers told deputies for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office that three black males entered the Dayton Pike shop, assaulted him and robbed the jewelry case while they held him at gunpoint. Chambers said he grabbed a gun and fired several shots at the suspects.

Detectives investigating the case presented evidence to the Hamilton County grand jury and the jury returned indictments against Chambers.

He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and given a $10,000 bond.
