A Bloods gang member who is suspected in several robberies in Chattanooga was picked up by deputies in Unicoi County Tuesday morning after reportedly robbing a Little Caesars Pizza in Johnson City, according to Johnson City police.
The Little Caesars Pizza at 2708 N. Roan St., was robbed Monday by a man who entered the restaurant, pulled a gun and ordered staff to hand over money from the safe and cash registers.
Martell Jones, 26, and Ledarius Owens, 27, both of Chattanooga, were arrested in Unicoi County after they were pursued by deputies in Madison County, North Carolina. Evidence found inside the vehicle linked them to the robbery at Little Caesars.
A hold has been placed on both.
Jones, who is a documented 126 Athens Park Blood gang member, has a lengthy arrest record including arrests for traffic violations and drug charges. In March 2010, he was convicted of one count of robbery. He received a four-year suspended sentence, records show.
Jones reportedly fired off a few shots in the direction of a store clerk after holding up a Speed Mart at 3100 Dodds Ave., according to Chattanooga police.
Police also believe he robbed a Cricket store in Chattanooga at 2700 Broad Street. Jones faces charges of three counts of aggravated robbery, attempted murder and kidnapping. Police suspect he is involved in several other robberies.
