Fire burns East Ridge house; no injuries

On Thursday about 9:20 p.m. East Ridge Fire/Rescue and Police went to a house fire at 706A Donaldson Road. Firefighters arrived in four minutes and found fire in a second-story bedroom.

Investigators have determined that the cause of the fire was a burning candle that had fallen off a nightstand, igniting items in the floor. Three people were home at the time of the fire, they all evacuated safely. No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $35,000.
