Three Jackson County Jail inmates were arrested in a narcotics incident Wednesday, according to a news release.
Corrections deputies called for the Jackson County Narcotics Unit after jail staff located alprazolam pills and tobacco smuggled in by a female inmate returning from work release.
Corrections Deputy Genna Brown discovered the contraband items in a female cell.
After an investigation, officers arrested Hailey Holloway, Rachel Dean and Pamela Mason.
Holloway, 35, of Flat Rock, Ala., was charged with possession of controlled substance, promoting prison contraband second, promoting prison contraband third and tampering with physical evidence.
Dean, 21, of Horton, Ala., and Mason, 29, of Scottsboro, Ala., were charged with possession of controlled substance, promoting prison contraband second and promoting prison contraband third.
Investigators are looking into who supplied the inmate with the contraband. There is a suspect and more arrests are pending, the release stated.
