Gamma Phi Beta Sorority joining UTC campus

Gamma Phi Beta Sorority will establish a chapter at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga this fall.

It is one of two National Panhellenic Conference sororities extended offers to colonize following an extension process by UTC's Panhellenic Council.

Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority has accepted an invitation to join the campus between fall 2015 and fall 2017, depending on growth of the Panhellenic community during that time.

"Gamma Phi Beta is extremely excited to have the opportunity to join the UTC Greek community. During our visit to campus, we were impressed with the students, staff, alumnae, administration and support provided by the university," said Whitney Brady, director of sorority growth for Gamma Phi Beta.

Liz Harriss York, international vice president of extension for Alpha Gamma Delta, said, "Alpha Gamma Delta is looking forward to starting a chapter at UTC, where students are encouraged to be active citizens and contribute to the community. Alpha Gamma Delta's values align well with UTC's, and I can't wait to see a new chapter thrive on this campus."

The new chapters will join five established NPC sororities on campus: Alpha Delta Pi, Chi Omega, Delta Zeta, Kappa Delta and Sigma Kappa.
