about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Clay, you need a half black, half white guy in golf attire named Barry Obama, whose brother sleeps in a card board box and lives on $1.00 a day, handing the scissors off to himself since sequestration was the Welfare Pimp's idea. Like most childish, emotional, liberals, Clay, you seem to have a very biased point of view. On another note, how about Hillary Clinton's compassion or should I of money. Shortly after abadoning her job as one of the few Secretaries Of State to have an American embassey and it's American ambassador destroyed, instead of doing fund rasing or volunteer work for say....THE WOUNDED WARRIORS, Miss Piggy Hillary, signs a speakers bureau contract where she will be paid like her philandering husband Slick Willie, $100,000 per speech. Sooooooo very "capitalist" in her nature. As usual, as it always is with the Democrats, it is about the money. Look for Barry The Welfare Pimp Obama to do the same thing after he trashes the so called wealthy and ruins economic opportunity for the reat of us over the next four years. It's the old "Let Them Eat Cake" syndrome.

But notice the large pair of scissors depicted by the Liberal. The cuts are small relative to our annual deficit and the overall debt but the Liberals view them as large.

There are just too many on the government plantation who don't care about our debt and the future burden on our children.

I believe this nation has passed the point of no return. Those who rely on government instead of God have a lot of misery in store for them.

These cuts as a percent of spending are so small they will hardly be noticeable. I wonder how long it would take people to realize the government other than the military and the social security offices were to shout down? The city seeing anything noticeable would probably be Washington D.C. The politicos would not want a targeted shout down to reveal how useless some departments are.

The military scare tactics avoid base closings and reductions in civilian employees consistent with reductions in active duty personnel in two wars. The whole military contracting scheme needs to be investigated and publicized.

Not one department head is capable of a zero based budget process where they outline what is to be spent and why with a measureable cost benefit analysis. The same analysis should be required for all current and any new regulations.

The only thing wrong with this picture is that the scissors aren't large enough. If we can't cut one half of 1% from our budget this country doesn't deserve to exist. I am absolutely ashamed of this country. We are just a bunch of deadbeats.

Just like the large states and large cities of this country, Liberals have basically ruined everything. Liberalism is like a fungus, it just keeps creeping and creeping and creeping until it takes over the whole body. All the while, 50% of this country is delusional. This page and some of the liberal loons on it are absolute proof of that.

A lot of good people are going to be hurt by these cuts. Unfortunately, it cannot be avoided if we are going to get out of a mess.

Just as bleeding hearts feed wild animals and make them dependent on us, and then those animals starve when they multiply and become dependent if we stop feeding them, the American people are going to suffer from the irresponsibility of our government.

Both sides are to blame. Government organizations which had to grow in order to justify their existence will shrink back to something that is still too big, but not as big as it was.

I know a LOT of good people who work for the federal government who deserve more pay than they get. I also know a lot of good people who work for the federal government who are vastly overpaid for what they do, and for what they are capable of doing.

I think we are going to see a vast and quick reduction in military spending. I hope that the rest of the world will also reduce their forces. There is nothing left on a global scale worth fighting for. Anything we want can be ordered from The Muslim fundamentalists will either wipe each other out on their own soil, or go back to the stone age and read the Quran and leave the science books alone.

It took the Former Soviet Union going broke and declaring peace on Earth to bring an end to the Cold War. Maybe if we do the same, it will bring an end to our influence in the rest of the world, and they can fend for themselves.

The implements of war, and particularly nuclear weapons, are incredibly expensive to build and maintain. The world can do without them.

All of the money required to run our government's programs comes from borrowing, or from taxes we pay. Giving that spending power back to the people is the right thing to do.

The only problem is, how do we force people who work at jobs to redistribute their money to the dependent poor?

This is Obama's dirty little secret. He knows that we cannot go on this way. He also knows that his political party cannot survive if the government he heads does not continue to give away unearned money through social programs. He's passing the buck to sequestration, and he's attempting to avoid responsibility for his part in it.

America just went bankrupt, and now it cannot pay its employees. It cannot continue to give away money to charity. Everybody loses. The Liberal bubble has burst.

By the way, I have a nice little 4-acre compound in farm country in Georgia. Anyone who can live on $2000 a month can buy the place from me, move down there and grow most of their own food instead of waiting for someone to hand it to them. Sure, it will take some back-breaking physical labor to do it, but that's how people lived 80 years ago in this country. At least now we have electricity to help with the hard work.

After listening to, and reading about ‘sequestration’ from the usual suspects; I have to conclude that today’s right wing willfully ignorant class; Deficit chicken little’s, defenders of the 1%, corporate person hood, and their underlying belief that, “Privatize profits, socialize losses” is valid and just evidences beyond a shadow of a doubt, it is they, the conservative right, that are the true socialists. Combine this with the Taliban like fervor of Christian right (extremism) and you have all the makings of a ‘National Socialist Party’. The antithesis of everything this country (and an enlightened civilization) was founded on.

Our Declaration of Independence states that "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal”. For today’s right wing however, the following is truer definition.[ “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”]

[“An uproar of voices was coming from the Christian church. They rushed back, looked through the window. Yes, a violent quarrel of pigs was in progress. There were shoutings, bangings on the table, sharp suspicious glances, furious denials and shouts of pious righteousness. The source of the trouble appeared to be that Conservative, JonRoss and Maximus(aka Pee Wee) had each played a royal flush simultaneously and each demanded the pot.

More voices were now shouting in anger, and they were all alike. No question, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”]

And we still can’t see which is which - even today.

Paraphrased from [‘Animal Farm’]

Before there is any rebuttal by uninformed buffoonery, know this. I am not a Democrat, I did not support nor vote Democratic party line.

JonRoss, your link is complete crap, and the biographies offered there are nothing more than the same crap that has been regurgitated for four years in regard to the President.

Every man deserves to be assessed based not on the people that some believe they have present and past association with, but based on their own words and deeds.

Thus...if, and I do mean were remotely true that the President has had any association with Bill Ayers, it does not mean that he supports a doggone thing the man did or said in his past. Obama was about 8 years at the height of Bill Ayers and his wife's anti-war activism.

I've read a great deal of and from Bill Ayers. I was also about 8 years old when all that was going on, but had I been a young man at the time that the draft was going on, I would have likely been right there with the man protesting.

There is a big difference between drafting our young to defend our nation, and that in forced defense of one halfway around the world.

Bill Ayers, since he turned himself in to the FBI in the 70's to face the music, has lived an exemplary life. You might disagree with his politics, and other views the man has expressed, but he is as free as you are to express them.

You are just as free to size up the President based on any criteria you wish, which you apparently do, given that which you post day in and day out.

What will never happen however, is for anything you type to make an iota of difference in the fact that he will remain the President for the next four years.

So type away with complete ignorance. Those of us who voted for the man, know that what you believe will never change a thing.

If the Bible is accurate and the word of God, then God murdered with premeditation on more than on occasion, untold numbers of men, women, and children, not to mention animal life that existed at the time on this planet.

That statement is not blasphemous in the least sense of the word. The Bible is the very book from where I derived that knowledge.

You can keep posting every time I post something in this forum, but until you refute my statement, it stands as the truth, as anyone can read in the Bible.

It all starts with Genesis 6:5 and ends with Genesis 8:20-21, where God in retrospect offers, "20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it."

"21 The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done."

It's this kind of misinformation that has come to define the anti-Obama nuts across this nation.

It is not a 100 day tour to promote welfare.

Although no official announcement has been made by anyone, there is an initiative underway by Federal officials who will be meeting with local officials in a series of visits to 100 cities around the nation as part of a White House program to support urban revitalization.

Representatives from the EPA, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Federal Highway Administration, the US Department of Transportation, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and representatives from various state and regional offices will be conducting the meetings. There are also nonprofits and charitable businesses on hand at these meetings, not affiliated with the U.S. Government, that will be awarding various grants to cities for urban renewal projects.

The focus will be on providing funds for needed infrastructure improvements, to help build housing for both the rich and the poor, community health centers, and a plethora of other needs that cities may have.

The President will not likely be involved personally with any of these, yet to be scheduled symposiums.

Some of you people truly need to pull your heads out of your hind ends and to quit reading dump truck loads of horse manure and to learn the truth.

Republicans are more concerned with blaming Obama for sequestration than with eliminating loopholes and exemptions for millionaires and billionaires. Is anyone surprised? Anyone?

Presidential wanna-be Mitt Romney promised closing loopholes could balance the federal budget.

Maybe it was Obama's idea. Maybe it wasn't. When the Bill passed Congress and the President signed it, John Boehner crowed, “I got 98% of what I wanted.” He was grinning like a pumpkin. (Okay, ‘jack-o-lantern,’ but same lovely orange.) Paul Ryan weighed in, too, boasting about the republican victory.

Regardless of whom you wish to blame, this is an easy problem to solve. Congress passed the Budget Control Act of 2011. It was born out of the debt-ceiling debacle; Congress can pass another bill to render the first bill null and void. There is only one reason why House republicans refuse to entertain the notion of an idea of killing sequestration. Just one.

Republicans are all on board the S.S. Sequester. Toot-toot! They all want those massive budget cuts. They still cling to the idea that block headed notion that we can cut our way to prosperity. Please, oh, please, tea baggers beg, please don't tread on our poor down trodden rich folks . We can make up the difference by cutting funds from food stamps, school lunches, Medicare, and so forth.

One more reason republicans are known as the ‘Stupid Party.’

Good points Blackwater,

I like it.

The Boehner boys and the GOP are clueless and desperate, and acting like two year olds to avoid the blame they know Americans will hammer them with, and instead of even giving the’ appearance’ of a plan, or they care about America, their last-ditch effort is…blaming the President. Sooo predictable.

Further, Justin Amash (R-Michigan), somehow understands the foolishness of blaming Obama. He said, “It’s a mistake on the part of Republicans to try to pin the sequester on Obama, it’s totally disingenuous. The debt ceiling deal in 2011 was agreed to by Republicans and Democrats, you can’t vote for something and, with a straight face, go blame the other guy for its existence in law.” Me thinks Mr. Amash missed the memo that the one and only hard rule of being a Republican is “blame Obama for everything; especially for Republican incompetence and malfeasance.

With a week to go, there is still a small hope that the Republicans will be forced to actually DO something for Americans, (regular Americans, not just the 1%) but they are so out of practice that they don't seem they know how anymore. The Obama administration knows this. The Boehner boys and the rest of the Republican swine are being played.
