A 16-4 scoring run in the fourth quarter led Tyner to a 36-29 road upset over Sequoyah in the Region 3-AA girls' basketball tournament Friday.
Bekesha Clark's 11 points led the Lady Rams, who advance to the region semifinals Monday at McMinn County.
Also Friday night in 3-AA, East Hamilton held off a late Polk County rally for a 46-42 win and third-ranked McMinn Central beat Brainerd 76-32.
In Region 3-AAA, Bradley Central rolled past Cumberland County 87-45, while McMinn County slipped past Coffe County 39-37 and Cookeville beat Walker Valley 65-55.
In Region 3-A, Sale Creek used a big third quarter to pull away from Arts & Sciences, behind Erin Hill's 25 points and 11 rebounds. Silverdale Baptist got another big scoring night from Mariah Massengill, whose 34 points and 11 assists led her team to a 75-61 win over Richard Hardy.
Also in 3-A, Van Buren County eliminated Boyd-Buchanan 78-47 and Whitwell beat Grace Academy 42-29 behind Alyssa Coppinger's 18 points.
Livingston Academy eliminated Grundy County 100-51 in a Region 4-AA boys' game.
