This is what firefighters saw when they arrived on scene at 1713 W. 56th St. early this morning.

An early morning fire destroyed a house in St. Elmo today.
Neighbors said the fire at 1713 W. 56th Street started around 2 a.m., according to a news release.
No victims were found in the fire. The owner was out of town, the release stated.
The house was considered a total loss and a Hyundai Elantra parked close to the house was also destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
