ATHENS, Tenn. - The McMinn Central boys' basketball team claimed a 55-47 victory over Brainerd in the Region 3-AA semifinals at McMinn County.

The Chargers used a 15-0 run in the fourth quarter, and were able to hold on to advance to their first region championship game since 2006.

Josh Scudder finished with 19 points for the Chargers. Jay Besley had 18 for the Panthers.
