Semi crash on I-75 shuts down all southbound lanes this morning in Atlanta area

ACWORTH, Ga. — A semitrailer hauling potatoes overturned on Interstate 75, shutting down all southbound lanes of the busy freeway just before of rush hour northwest of Atlanta.

Motorists were being told to expect significant delays due to the lane closure. As of 5:30 a.m., all southbound lanes remained blocked as authorities investigated the wreck, north of Wade Green Road in Cobb County.

Details of what caused the crash were not immediately available early today.

WSB-TV reports that the truck was hauling potatoes when it overturned on the freeway.
