Cellarbration benefits Austin Hatcher Foundation

Sunday, January 1, 1905

You don't have to be a wine connoisseur to take part in Cellarbration, a benefit for the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer. But you might be closer to being an oenophile by the time you leave.

This blind wine tasting and contest is scheduled 7-10 p.m. Friday, March 1, at the Walden Club, 633 Chestnut St.

Teams of one or two people arrive with three bottles of the same red wine. The first two bottles will be covered and numbered for the tasting. The third bottle will go into the "cellar," already holding $500 worth of wine. The stockpile grows as each third bottle is added.

During the evening, guests will snack on hors d'oeuvres and sample the wines, then vote for their favorite wine. The team whose wine wins the popular vote will go home with the entire cellar of wines.

Admission is $25, plus three bottles of red wine. Proceeds help the foundation continue to provide services to children with cancer and their families through its cancer care center, Hatch's House of Hope.

Tickets may be purchased at www.hatcherfoundation.org. For more information, call 423-243-3475.
