Senate confirms four TVA board members

The U.S. Senate on Tuesday approved four new board members to govern the Tennessee Valley Authority, ending concern that the board would be without a quorum in the new year.

The four confirmed were Joe H. Ritch, of Alabama; Michael McWherter, of Tennessee; Vera Lynn Evans, of Tennessee; and C. Peter Mahurin, of Kentucky.
