Two children were killed in a Murray County traffic accident Friday.
Their mother and another child were injured when the vehicle, driven by their mother, collided with a tractor-trailer truck on Georgia 136 near old Highway 411.
Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said the vehicle, driven by Susan Renee Greene, 39, from Summerville, Ga., ran a stop sign and struck the truck on the left side. The impact caused the vehicle, a GMC Envoy, to rotate and also strike the rear of the truck.
Killed were 12-year-old Mason Greene and 6-year-old Zachary Greene, also from Summerville.
Their mother and passenger Dylan Webb, age 13, from Euharlee, Ga., were taken to Hamilton Medical Center for treatment. Webb is related to the Greenes.
The Gordon County fire chief told news crews that the victims were related to a Gordon County firefighter.
The truck driver, Bobby Gene Douglas, age 41, from Resaca, Ga., was also taken to Hamilton Medical Center for treatment. Wright said.
