Southeast joins three top seeds

CEDARTOWN, Ga. — Southeast Whitfield will join the top three seeds in the semifinal round of the Area 7-AAAA Wrestling Duals today at Cedartown High School. The Raiders upset fourth-seeded Cass in Friday's quarterfinal round and will square off with top-seeded Gilmer County this morning at 10.

Heritage and LaFayette, the Nos. 2 and 3 seeds, will meet in the other semifinal, with the winners meeting at noon in the championship round. If the two semifinal losers have not wrestled against each other, they will face each other for the second state playoff berth after the championship round.

In the first round Friday, Cedartown defeated Ridgeland, Dalton downed River Ridge and Northwest Whitfield got past Pickens County. In the quarterfinals, LaFayette defeated Dalton, Heritage topped Northwest and Gilmer downed Cedartown.
