The NAIA-ranked Lee University basketball teams could not quite complete a two-day Mississippi sweep of Southern States Athletic Conference opponents Saturday at William Carey. The sixth-ranked Lady Flames won 74-45, but the third-ranked Flames lost for the first time in 14 games this season, 82-79.

In Friday's win at Belhaven, Will Barnes scored 18 points and Duran Blue, Chase Dunn and newly added Jamorris Gaines also reached double figures for the Flames, while Chad Lee had nine rebounds with eight points. Saturday, Barnes scored 17 points, Corey Billingsley added 15 and Patrick Shaughnessy and Blue each had 11, Shaughnessy adding eight rebounds.

Jeremiah Dunnings scored 28 for 10th-ranked William Carey (13-2, 6-0) and Kelvin Nixon and Daron Bell added 18 and 17.

Hollie German had 16 points and Jenna Adams and Karley Miller and Brooke Hamby added 13 and 11 with nine rebounds each for the Lady Flames (13-1, 4-1). Brooke Hamby and Julia Zimmerman scored 10 and nine points.

• Tennessee Wesleyan 113, St. Andrews 79: At Athens, Desmond Crisp led five double-digit Bulldogs scorers with 22 points and E'Jay Ward had 12 assists and seven steals in the Appalachian Athletic Conference rout of the winless Knights. Tyler Burse had 17 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots, and Zamarius McClendon and Michael Nicolo each grabbed eight rebounds.

• Tennessee Wesleyan (w) 69, St. Andrews 43: The Lady Bulldogs' Heather Gibson had 15 points and seven rebounds in beginning the AAC sweep, while Sara McKinnon and Cody Houck had 13 and 10 points and 11 and seven rebounds. Wesleyan led by 36 points early in the second half.

• Virginia Intermont 89, Bryan 78: At Dayton, the visitors won the AAC matchup behind 30 points and 10 rebounds from Joshua Hart, 19 points from Justin Morris and 14 plus six assists from Anthony Goode. Tim Fortenberry and Robert Troino scored 17 and 16 points and Brandon Cole and Rafael Tyler added 10 each for Bryan (5-10, 1-2).

• Bryan (w) 52, Virginia Intermont 49: Jenna Ray had 16 points and seven rebounds and Morgan Burnette had 12 points, eight rebounds, four steals and four assists in the Lady Lions' AAC win, while Macy Kilgore scored 10 points.

• Covenant 68, Hiwassee 57: On Lookout Mountain, Callum Sears scored 22 points, going to 1,003 for his career, as the host Scots won in the Covenant Classic. Rosbie Mutcherson scored 11 points and Colton McGriff and Jon DeVries added 10 each for Covenant (7-4). Justin Browner and Howie Meadows scored 13 apiece and Jeff Golden had 11 rebounds and three blocked shots for Hiwassee (4-14).

• Covenant (w) 64, Wesleyan 48: On Lookout Mountain, Alexis Storteboom had 15 points and 15 rebounds (eight offensive) off the bench and Haley Soles and Jessie Blankenship scored 13 and 12 points as the Lady Scots opened GSAC play with a win. Ruth Gibson had eight rebounds and five assists.

• Bethel (w) 81, Tennessee Temple 52: At McKenzie, Tenn., the 12th-ranked NAIA Division I hosts hammered the Lady Crusaders with 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists from Alisha Gentry. Jessica Salera and Amanda Rector scored 14 and 12 points for Temple (4-11), which had lost 55-46 at Brescia on Thursday.

• Georgia Northwestern 76, Southern Crescent Tech 64: At Rome, Ga., the host Bobcats completed an NJCAA Region XVII doubleheader sweep with Fernando Lemus Jr. and Tavish Reynolds each scoring 11 points and Alex Miller adding 10, countering Demarrius Tyler's 22 points and five steals for Southern Crescent. It was the first game of the season for sophomore Lemus, returning from ligament reconstruction in both knees.

• Georgia Northwestern (w) 77, Southern Crescent 52: The Lady Cats won their region opener behind Sierra Smith's 14 points with four 3-pointers, Alyssa Nichelson's 13 points, Kiarra Parks' 12 points and Odessa Person's 17 rebounds. LaKaisha Anderson had 22 points and Shay Williams added 16 for the Lady Tigers.
