Police search for Huntsville killer

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville police are looking for the person who shot and killed a Huntsville man in front of his home.

Police say Alonzo McGhee was shot late Friday night. A neighbor told police that McGhee was pulling out of his driveway when someone shot into the driver’s side. The 41-year-old McGhee was struck in the head, and the shooter fled.

Neighbors said McGhee is the father of three children and served in the Army as a lieutenant colonel. Court records show he was recently divorced from his wife, former Hampton Cove Elementary School principal Fillis McGhee.
