ELON, N.C. — Elon outscored the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team 12-2 in overtime tonight to defeat the Lady Mocs 70-60 at Alumni Gym.
The Lady Mocs (10-3, 3-1 Southern Conference) finished 10 of 21 from the free-throw line and went 1-for-8 from the field in overtime. Ashlen Dewart led UTC with 20 points and Kayla Christopher scored 15.
Elon’s Kelsey Evans gave UTC all kinds of trouble with 19 points and 21 rebounds. The Phoenix (6-7, 3-1) also got 21 points from Ali Ford.
