Four wounded after gang shooting at Chattanooga 14-year-old’s birthday party

Chattanooga police responded to a shooting at 3208 Bonair Circle where four people were wounded after rival gangs opened fire at a 14-year-old’s birthday party.

A 16-year-old male, 17-year-old male and 17-year-old female were wounded as well as 19-year-old LeRance White just after 1 a.m. today.

An argument between rival gang members started inside the residence and continued outside. When the argument moved outside, two groups began exchanging shots at each other.

The four people were wounded and taken to three area hospitals.

As many as 150 to 200 people were in attendance at the party. Police interviewed the victims and many attendees at the party. No one claimed to see anything.

The shooting marks the first one of the year with injuries. In 2012 there were 98 shootings resulting in injury or death.
