Phil Vischer has been a voice actor, writer, animator and songwriter, but his most enduring legacy may be his "VeggieTales" creations. Since its debut in 1993, the Christian animation series, featuring such characters as Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber, has sold 60 million videos.
Today, Jan. 10, Vischer will make a guest appearance at Southern Adventist University to share his personal testimony of the highs and lows from 20 years in the Christian entertainment industry.
He will speak at 11 a.m. in the Iles PE Center and at 7:30 p.m. in Thatcher Chapel on the Collegedale campus. Admission to both events is free.
Spokesman Lucas R. Patterson says Vischer's visit "brings much excitement to the general student population, even more so to those studying in the award-winning School of Visual Art and Design."
Vischer recently launched "What's in the Bible," another faith-based project aimed at reaching children.
