Atlanta police officer shot during drug chase

ATLANTA - An Atlanta police officer is in stable condition after being shot in the face during a pursuit.

The shooting happened Friday night in southwest Atlanta. WSB-TV reports that Officer Reggie Robinson was questioning a man over a suspected drug deal when the suspect fled.

Police spokesman Paul Guerrucci said the officer was shot sometime during that chase.

Robinson was listed in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital on Saturday. Investigators have been unable to interview him in depth because of his injuries.
