Truck driver killed when front-loader crushes cab

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Authorities are investigating the death of a truck driver who was killed when the front-end loader he was carrying crushed his cab.

The Leaf-Chronicle reports the accident occurred in Clarksville around 4 p.m. on Saturday.

According to a news release from Clarksville Police spokesman Jim Knoll, the loader shifted forward on a flatbed trailer and continued until it came to rest on the cab of the tractor.

The 66-year-old driver, who has not been identified, was trapped inside and died at the scene.

Knoll said a crane was brought in from Hopkinsville, Ky., to remove the loader.
