Chattanooga: City observes paid parking holiday

Visitors to downtown Chattanooga will get a reprieve from parking fees at meters on Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, officials announced.

The Chattanooga Parking Authority will not enforce downtown parking meters on the holiday, as well as on the following holidays:

— Good Friday — March 29

— Memorial Day — May 27

— Independence Day — July 4

— Labor Day — Sept. 2

— Thanksgiving Day — Nov. 28

— Christmas Day — Dec. 25

Parking in an unlawful area, such as bus or loading zones, yellow curb, no parking, handicap space, Fort Wood Residential District, among others, is enforceable 24 hours/7 days a week, according to a news release.
