Georgia starting right guard Chris Burnette underwent left shoulder surgery this week to repair a torn labrum and will miss spring practice.
The 6-foot-2, 322-pounder from LaGrange, Ga., is expected to make a full recovery by the start of the 2013 season, according to Georgia assistant athletic director for sports medicine Ron Courson. Burnette made 12 starts this past season for the 12-2 Bulldogs as a redshirt junior, missing late-season wins over Auburn and Georgia Southern because of the shoulder.
Burnette also had 12 starts during the 2011 season.
Early enrollee Tramel Terry, the nation's No. 18 receiver according to Scout.com, recently underwent ACL surgery. Coach Mark Richt said last week that it is too early to determine whether the 6-foot, 190-pounder from Goose Creek, S.C., will redshirt in the 2013 season.
Georgia media relations director Claude Felton said Burnette and Terry are the only players who have had surgeries and no others are expected at this time.
