UTC, area colleges set for track meet at ETSU

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Lee University, Bryan College and Tennessee Wesleyan College will be among 60-plus teams represented in the 35th annual Niswonger Foundation Track and Field Invitational meet today and Saturday at East Tennessee State in Johnson City. More than 800 athletes are included. It starts at 10 this morning. Anyone wanting to attend can do so for $5 a day, and live results can be viewed at TimingInc.com.

Basketball

• Lee University's basketball games against Emmanuel scheduled for Thursday night in Cleveland were postponed because of expected heavy snow around Franklin Springs, Ga., where Emmanuel is located. The Southern States Athletic Conference doubleheader now will be played Feb. 9 at 2 and 4 p.m. in Walker Arena. Lee will play at Emmanuel on Feb. 25.

• The UTC Mocs Club will host "Breakfast With the Coach" at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wally's Restaurant on McCallie Avenue, with men's assistant basketball coach DeAntoine Beasley as the guest speaker. He is a former Tennessee Tech player from Atlanta. The public is invited to attend and order off the menu. Reservations are not necessary.
