East Hamilton's Caudle went over the 1,000-point mark in the Lady Hurricanes' 30-point victory over Central Park

East Hamilton guard Jessica Caudle went over the 1,000-point mark Saturday in the Lady Hurricanes' 30-point victory over Central Park in the Scenic City Shootout.

Playing in her school-record 101st game, Caudle hit a pair of free throws in the first quarter to top the milestone. She becomes the second player in the school's history to top 1,000 points, following guard Tiffany Lewis, who transferred to Riverdale this season.

The Lady Hurricanes went 1-2 during the event, falling to SC-ALI on Friday and an earlier contest Saturday to The Rock. They now stand 12-8 on the year.

Caudle came into the showcase averaging 13.5 points, 4.6 steals and 3.9 assists. She has a legit shot of becoming the school's all-time leading scorer before she leaves.

"Jessica has been the backbone of the program for four years," East Hamilton coach Derek Morris said. "She's been our starting point guard for four years, and this year, she's basically been our everything."
