ATLANTA — An Atlanta television station reports that a fan was stabbed in the neck outside the Georgia Dome after the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Atlanta Falcons for the NFC Championship.
Channel 2 http://bit.ly/Ud3jBS quotes a witness as saying that an argument began Sunday evening between a Falcons fan and a 49ers fan following the game that sent the 49ers to the Super Bowl. The TV station reports that the Falcons fan punched the 49ers fan and that the 49ers fan then pulled out a knife.
The station says one of the two was stabbed near the throat, but it was unclear which. The victim was reportedly taken to a hospital. The victim’s identity and condition were unknown.
A telephone call to the Atlanta police seeking information was not immediately returned.
