Delta Queen reopens hotel

The Delta Queen is reopening today, nearly a week after high water forced the floating restaurant and hotel to temporarily shut down. Delta Queen manager John Price said the boat closed last Friday because of the rising level and current of the Tennessee River at the downtown dock where the Delta Queen is stationed. TVA is spilling water through the Chickamauga Dam, raising the level of the Nickajack Reservoir. "The gangways are still attached to the sidewalk," Price said in an email. "However, the rise in the water level has partially covered them."
