Sources close to Hays State Prison say two prison guards were stabbed early this morning during a fight.
A current guard and a former Department of Corrections employee who spoke on condition of anonymity said the officers were stabbed when they tried to get several inmates back in their cells around 1 a.m. in the prison near Trion, Ga.
Neither officer had life-threatening wounds, they said.
Correction officials and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations had not responded to requests for information as of this afternoon.
