Chattanooga Attorney Russell King was reappointed today to another four-year term on the Erlanger board of trustees.
King, the 63-year-old trustee, has served longer than any board member on the hospital authority. His appointment comes as Tennessee lawmakers consider legislation to revamp the Erlanger board and the way trustees are appointed for the public hospital in the future.
King was first appointed to the Erlanger board in the 1980s by the Hamilton County legislative delegation and, after not serving on the board for nearly two decades, was appointed in 2008 to serve by the Hamilton County chancery judges.
Hamilton County Chancellors Frank Brown and Jeff Atherton issued an order today to reappoint King as their board designate “in light of his faithful and diligent service during the previous term and having trust and confidence in the ability and integrity” of King.
