FORT STEWART, Ga. - An Army investigator says a Fort Stewart soldier got more than $500,000 in life insurance and benefits from the death of his pregnant wife. Prosecutors say hours after she died, he told an old girlfriend via text message "we'll have plenty of money."

Military prosecutors began sketching out their case against Pvt. Isaac Aguigui during a preliminary hearing today. He's charged with murder in the July 2011 death of his wife, Sgt. Deirdre Aguigui, and with causing the death of their unborn child. Civilian prosecutors say Isaac Aguigui led an anti-government militia and have charged him in two other killings.

Chief Warrant Officer Justin Kapinus, an Army investigator, testified the initial autopsy on Aguigui's wife was inconclusive. A civilian medical examiner later determined she had been choked or suffocated.
