Athens Police and McMinn County deputies are investigating a fatal shooting in Athens.

Police say Melissa Marshall shot and killed her husband, Robert Vann Marshall, after he violated a restraining order.

Sheriff deputies reported police arrested Robert Marshall Saturday morning. Athens Police officers received a report that he was angry, suicidal, armed, and threatening to kill his wife and children. he was stopped in his vehicle at the Super 8 in Athens. Officers found firearms and narcotics.
