A Rossville man died today after an early morning car accident on Interstate 75, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. near mile marker 351. Ronnie Butler, 28, was headed north when his car began rotating on a sharp, downhill curve, according to the state patrol. The car left the highway and hit the end of a guardrail before continuing down an embankment. The vehicle collided with several trees before coming to a stop.

Butler, who had not buckled his seat belt, was taken to Erlanger hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
