TVA appoints Joseph Grimes as chief nuclear officer

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Valley Authority has appointed Joseph P. "Joe" Grimes as executive vice president and chief nuclear officer, according to a news release.

Grimes will be responsible for leading, operating and optimizing TVA's nuclear fleet, according to the release. He will replace Preston Swafford, who is retiring.

Grimes is currently senior vice president of Engineering and Technical Services for Exelon Nuclear. He will relocate to Chattanooga, the release stated.

Grimes has also held positions on the Electric Power Research Institute Nuclear Power Council, Boiling Water Reactor Owners Group Executive Council and the Drexel University Engineering Advisory Board, the release said.
