Salvation Army to help flood victims in South Pittsburg

The Salvation Army, acting on a request by South Pittsburg, Tenn., Mayor Jane Dawkins, is preparing to serve food today to more than 100 victims of last week's flooding there.

The organization also is sending a counselor to help with victim's emotional and spiritual needs, according to a news release.

Immediate needs include Borax and baby diapers, according to the Salvation Army.

To contribute to the effort, donations may be mailed to the Salvation Army at 822 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37403; given online at www.csarmy.org, or phoned in to 1-800-Sal-Army.
