Volunteer Energy Cooperative's VECustomers Share program has announced its awarding of $2,400 in grants to Hamilton County community groups in June.
Hamilton County organizations getting grants last month included HonorAir, $500; New Shepherd Hill Youth Group, $750; Team Kids, $650; and the Ooltewah High School Band Boosters, $500.
The program, established in October of 2001, has donated more than $4.5 million to community/service organizations throughout VEC's 17-county service area.
VECustomers Share is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization. Grant applications are available at any Volunteer Energy Cooperative customer service center or by calling 423-334-7051 or on the web at www.vec.org.
